The Buckethead persona came to be when Carroll saw the 1988 horror movie Halloween 4 and was inspired by the film. He then began making demo recordings of both his playing as well as his writing styles, which would later be released in 2007–2008. It was originally only sold on his 2006 tour, but was later made available on Travis Dickerson's record label TDRS music, until it eventually went out of print. Crime Slunk Scene is the eighteenth studio album by Buckethead, and the fourth tour-only album.
